Yaryn Choi is a 27-year-old, Korean-American artist and creative director hailing from Los Angeles, California.

From the age of four, Yaryn began studying classical piano. Her extensive training allowed her to develop a strong ear for harmony and rhythm, which, coupled with her love for popular music, led her to study classical piano, music production and pop performance at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). At university, Yaryn broadened the scope of her art practice by diving headfirst into her love for visual arts and graphic design, creating posters for events and concerts around campus.

After her graduation in 2020, Yaryn relocated to Seoul, South Korea, where she is currently based, and spent three years developing her creative skills, while simultaneously taking her first step into the music business world. In working at K-Pop entertainment giant, HYBE (home to BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, SEVENTEEN, and KATSEYE, among others), Yaryn broadened her understanding of the music industry and the impact of geo-locational culture on the entertainment industry and marketing strategy.

Her time at HYBE sparked Yaryn’s interest in learning more about the ins-and-outs of the music business, which led her to pursue her M.A. in Global Entertainment and Music Business at Berklee College of Music’s campus in Valencia, Spain. While studying topics like copyright and contract law, digital marketing, data analytics, publishing and sync licensing, she served as the Head of Marketing at Disrupción Records and worked on projects with guest lecturers including Yvette Noel-Schure (publicist to Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, etc.). She graduated in July 2024.

Yaryn’s next move carried her to KOGO, an artist management company and creative incubator developing the next generation of diasporic talent. Serving as Lead Creative and Digital Marketing Manager, Yaryn currently supports KOGO’s clients (KOAD, Nafeesisboujee, REHMA, Asha Imuno, CONNIE, Curtis Waters, & Alé Araya) in building out their visual narratives and digital storytelling.
